Model clause

Due to the Eighth Order amending the Licensing Regulations for doctors from 11.02.1999, the legal basis for the implementation of model courses in medical training has been created. Through the new arrangement innovative developments and alternative programs can be launched, even if by some otherwise mandatory requirements of the Licensing Regulations for doctors differ.

The provision ÄAppO the 41 states that also the first section of the medical examination and the university examinations after 27 ÄAppO may alternatively be provided and the practical one year may be carried out in alternative format.

This requires a corresponding study regulations of the university, an evaluation of the model study, rules at run time to discontinuation of the model and to set off the transition into general education. The first pilot is currently running at the Charité Berlin. The Berlin has developed a pilot project based on international models such as Harvard and the Canadian Reform McMaster University.
