Handicap

Place the disabled!

The disabled account for nearly one in four French. But France lags behind that seen places and public transport are far from being accessible to the disabled. Fortunately, the mobilization is growing.

In recent months there has been manifest in the streets for the first time the retirees but also the disabled with movement "Neither poor nor subject" which unites more than 80 associations such as the APF (Association of paralyzed France). Apart from social demands, people with disabilities dream of integration, therefore accessibility. The deadline to 2015 by the Government is not so far. The law of February 2005 on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities provides access in all establishments open to the public, cultural, transportation and utilities. But clearly, the steps are still too high and the ramps do not exist ... When will a true modernity?

The best addresses on the Internet

Everyone can participate and register new addresses on the nice and friendly site www.jaccede.com. Just ask your baker, your country club or your beautician if the venue is handicapped accessible. Regularly, the guide is enriched with restaurants, bars, shops, museums, cinemas, spa ... Evolutionary and participative, the site needs all to learn from new places, new ideas and new members throughout France. While one is in a wheelchair, on crutches or on two legs, the important thing is to participate and share! Talk around you.
